2012 Tri-Wing Encampment Scholarship Program
Encampment is a central component in the CAP cadet curriculum. Cadets must attend an encampment to progress into the cadet officer ranks, cadet staff will learn valuable leadership lessons, and senior members are needed to serve as mentors.
While today's economy has sharply increased the cost of putting on an encampment, the Tri-Wing Staff recognize that the economy has additionally put more financial strain on our members than ever. To help ensure that all members have the opportunity to participate in this vital program, a scholarship fund has been set up for members in need of financial assistance.
This fund is available only to members assigned to Delaware, Maryland, or National Capital Wings. Members on the encampment waiting list due to space limitations are not eligible for scholarships unless selected as a primary attendee.
Funds will be distributed on an as available basis. The number and values of the scholarships will depend on the number of applications received as well as the amount of fund contributions received. Any applications received after the deadline will only be considered for any funds received or remaining after all other funds have been distributed.
Members may request a scholarship for themselves, or any other member with knowledge of financial need may nominate them. To apply or nominate a member for a scholarship, please send an e-mail to triwing@eastoncap.org with the following information:
- Member Name
- CAPID (if known)
- Unit number or name
- Member contact information (for notification purposes)
- Amount requested
- Brief paragraph describing why the member should be selected for the scholarship
All applications will be reviewed by the Tri-Wing Encampment command staff with recommendations from the member's Wing Director of Cadet Programs. The 2012 application deadline is 11:59PM on 31 May. Scholarship awards will be announced by 14 June.
Members applying for scholarships should not submit payment for the encampment until they have been notified of scholarship results. Any member who is selected for a scholarship who has already paid will receive a reimbursement check in the amount of the scholarship awarded.
If you would like to make a contribution to this fund, you may send it to:
