Packing List

EQUIPMENT: Below is the equipment list for required items as well as some of optional items. There are no facilities to purchase supplies so please ensure that all items are brought to Encampment. We cannot be responsible for any item or personal property brought to the encampment. Do not bring any item not included on the equipment list. All clothing and equipment must be marked indelibly with your name using permanent marker or writing on waterproof tape. Do not use garbage bags as luggage as your gear may be confused with actual garbage.

Cadets should not bring electronic devices of any kind or cell phones to the Encampment. If brought, they will be held by the encampment staff until check-out.

  • Current CAP membership card valid through at least 6 July 11 (Cadet must show CAPID at check-in)
  • Medical disclosure form completed and signed by parent (submitted prior to or at check-in)

  • Short Sleeve Blues items
  • 1 short-sleeve blue uniform shirt (females - tuck-in only), with epaulets.
  • 1 set of rank insignia
  • 1 name plate, ultramarine blue
  • 1 set of ribbons (to be brought, but not attached to shirt)
  • 1 pair blue uniform trousers or slacks (female)
  • 1 blue belt with shiny buckle and tip
  • 2 white t-shirts, V-neck type.
  • 1 blue flight cap with CAP enlisted hat device
  • 1 pair black low-quarter leather uniform shoes (not Corfram or pumps/heels)
  • 2 pair of black dress socks

  • Battle Dress Uniform items
  • 1 pair of boots, combat (not hiking), all-leather or leather with black or olive green mesh
  • 1 BDU Cap (Note: MDWG members do NOT wear the black cap)
  • 2 BDU blouses, with name tape, CAP tape, American flag, and wing patch
  • 6 pair of socks, black, wool
  • 2 BDU trousers
  • 1 belt, blue with black clip and matching buckle
  • 6 undershirts, brown, crew neck

  • Physical Training Uniform items
  • 2 pairs of shorts, black (no short shorts)
  • 4 pairs of socks, white, below the calf
  • 1 pair of shoes, athletic, running, lace up

  • Other clothing and personal items
  • 6 pairs of underwear
  • 4 bras (females - any combination of bras/sports bras)
  • 1 shoeshine kit (equipment and supplies)

  • Bathing and hygiene items (bring a 10 day supply)
  • 1 razor with additional blades
  • 1 can of shaving cream
  • 1 toothbrush with toothpaste
  • 1 bottle of shampoo
  • 1 comb or brush
  • 1 deodorant
  • 1 pair of shower shoes, flip-flops or crocs (all rubber)
  • 1 bar of soap with soap box, or liquid soap
  • 2 towels, white, bath
  • feminine hygiene products

  • Miscellaneous items
  • 1 insect repellant
  • 1 Moleskin pad
  • 1 lip balm
  • 1 sunscreen
  • 1 flashlight
  • 2 set of batteries for flashlight
  • 1 mesh laundry bag, blue
  • 1 permanent marker, laundry safe
  • 1 notebook, spiral, blue or black, standard size, college ruled
  • 2 pens, black or blue ink
  • 10 clothes hangers, white plastic
  • 1 ruler (at least 18") or tape measure
  • 1 set of leadership and aerospace textbooks
  • ADEQUATE SUPPLY OF PRESCRIBED MEDICATION, PROPERLY LABELED IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER

  • Optional items - the following items are not required but may be brought for your convenience
  • 1 set of eyeglasses (note: constraints on time and concerns regarding field condition sanitation make proper care of contacts difficult. It is highly recommended that cadets do not bring contact lenses. Sunglasses are prohibited, but eyeglasses with photosensitive lenses are permitted.)
  • 1 hand sanitizer, liquid
  • 1 AFMAN 36-2203 Drill and Ceremonies Manual
  • 1 CAPR 52-16
  • 1 sewing kit
  • 1 iron and spray starch
  • 1 disposable camera
  • 1 religious reading material
  • Poncho, either military-type (OG or BDU pattern), orange or see-through. Need not be expensive
  • Laundry detergent (small amount, recommended)
